About SAF
Sharnalata Agro Fisheries Ltd.
SAF is a leading fish hatchery of Bangladesh based in Mymensingh. It is one of the few fish hatcheries of Bangladesh that comply with the recent hatchery regulations of the government and is licensed.
This hatchery was founded by few enthusiastic and visionary Fisheries Graduates (graduated from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh) in 2001 with an aim to produce high yielding and inbred-free fish seeds/fry of all kinds.
As a part of retaining quality of fish seeds, SAF collects broods of Indian Major Carps from the River Halda and Jamuna on every alternate year. Moreover, SAF has recently collected improved strains of Tilapia from Philippines and Pangas (white pangas) & Koi from Vietnam.
SAF ensure all male (monosex) population of tilapia by MT treatment inside the hatchery cistern for first one week and in pond hapa for following two weeks.
